Commercial Hoods Company Expands Nationally While Remaining Loyal Locally

Filed under: Articles — Tags: Commercial hoods, commercial kitchen hoods, commercial vent hoods — Massoud Farazandeh @ 12:24 am

April 23, 2009 — DENVER, COLORADO — A lot of small businesses begin with dreams of growing into national companies.
They start small and rely on local clients to make them successful. Sadly, many of them forget those who helped propel them to success once they have achieved their goals.

But that isn’t the case with American Professional Services (APS-Hoods), a commercial hoods sales and installation company, said Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., an affiliate of APS-Hoods.

Since Farazandeh began the commercial kitchen hoods company in 1989, he has prided himself on his willingness to take care of his customers.

“Now that we have launched a national campaign to serve every state in the nation, it is more important than ever that our Colorado customers understand that we will continue to provide them with the best commercial vent hoods services we have to offer,” Farazandeh said. “We want them to know that the level of service will not change for them, but that we are expanding to offer that same level of service to restaurants throughout the country.”

Since the company began, it has offered hood cleaning and other commercial kitchen services to restaurants throughout Colorado, including Aurora, Centennial, Englewood, Littleton, Lakewood, Golden, Boulder, Fort Collins, Westminster, Bloomfield, Thornton, Northglenn, Greely, Loveland, Longmont, Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, Pueblo, Vail, Aspen, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Evergreen, Winter Park, Granby, Grand Lake, Estes Park, Louisville, Lafayette, Arvada and Wheat Ridge.

“It is important to me that the people of Colorado know that although we are focusing a great deal of our attention on our nationwide hood installation and cleaning services, that  doesn’t mean that anything will be taken away from the prompt, professional service we have been giving them all these years,” he said. “The strength we’ve gained in creating a national presence will help them more because now we can offer all of our services throughout Colorado.”

Hood Cleaning Services
APS-Hoods began in Denver as a hood cleaning business. Today, they are among the top companies in the country that professionally clean restaurant kitchen hoods, ducts and fans, Farazandeh said.

The company’s comprehensive cleaning services include the use of high-powered equipment and special chemicals. The type of cooking processes used by the restaurant and the volume of food cooked determine the frequency in which the cleanings should be performed, he said. But as a rule, commercial kitchen systems should be cleaned at least every six months.

When high volumes of vegetable oils are used in restaurants’ cooking processes, those kitchen hoods, ducts and fans need to be cleaned every three months. This is particularly important because vegetable oil grease takes on a glue-like consistency when it is left to build up and when that occurs, removing it is a difficult task, Farazandeh said.

Restaurants that include the use of deep fat fryers or charbroilers also require cleaning once every three months, Farazandeh said.

Routine cleaning is perhaps most important in eating establishments that use fire or smokehouses to cook their foods, he said. Those dining facilities need to clean their systems every month to keep them safe and in optimum working condition.

Expanding Services

APS-Hoods has grown through the years to include restaurant kitchen hood sales, installation, complete fire protection services and fire suppression system services, Farazandeh said.

As a result of this, Farazandeh realized his company could be of assistance when restaurants were in the construction process.

“I realized I could save owners in long-term costs because of my experience,” he said.

APS-Hoods is licensed as an electrical, mechanical and fire protection company, and it also has a general contractor license. All of this means that its employees draw from a wealth of knowledge when consulting on restaurant kitchen construction projects. The company pools its expertise to consider the end-result when consulting on restaurant construction projects.

Consulting services include reviewing blueprints to verify that systems are built in a way that makes access simple and safe. Farazandeh also ensures that restaurants are designed so that plumbers, electricians and hood system installers have enough room to do their jobs properly during the installation process.

He also considers long-term maintenance needs and works during the construction process to make sure access panels and other systems can be reached easily for cleaning and maintenance.
