July 6, 2009 —BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA— Growth is on the horizon for American Professional Services (APS-Hoods).

Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., an affiliate of APS-Hoods, is making its Beverly Hills hood cleaning, installation and sales services cheaper and more convenient for customers by opening an Orange County location, said Massoud Farazandeh chief executive officer of APS-Hoods.

Although headquartered in Denver, the company always has maintained a presence in the Beverly Hills area, Farazandeh said. Rather than opening an office/workshop location of their own, APS-Hoods has partnered with Beverly Hills, CA hood installation contractors through the years to provide services throughout Orange County.

A recent advertising push in the area resulted in a significant increase in business, Farazandeh said. Soon thereafter, he realized it was time to open a satellite location. Farazandeh chose an office/workshop space in a Placentia industrial park because it will make it convenient for APS-Hoods to take on additional work in areas in and around Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Anaheim and Santa Ana.

The shop, located at 610 S. Jefferson St., Unit G, provides enough space for APS-Hoods to have a full-scale shop where Farazandeh can perform custom fabrication work, as well as an office for  Beverly Hills, CA hood sales and other services the company offers. He plans to open the location for business on August 1.

“The way things are going, it looks like this operation will become bigger than our Denver location,” he said. “I’m asking myself why I didn’t do an advertising push and set up a Los Angeles- area location 15 years ago.”

The Placentia location will make work a lot easier on for APS-Hoods employees. In the past, they have worked out of independent contractors’ shops for small jobs, while doing custom fabrication jobs at the company’s Denver location and having them shipped to California. Providing these services on-site means cost savings can be passed along to customers, Farazandeh said.

Every service provided by APS-Hoods at its Denver location also will be provided at the Placentia location, he said. That scope of services includes:

Hood, Duct and Exhaust Fan Installation
This installation process includes installing access panels, fire wrap for grease ducts and welding ducts to prevent grease leaks. APS-Hoods also installs hinges on all exhaust fans, making them easier to clean in the future.

Hood Cleaning
Although many restaurant owners see cleaning of hood systems as a janitorial issue, it actually is a matter of safety and fire prevention, Farazandeh said. Therefore, it is important to hire trained, experienced professionals to ensure systems are cleaned properly.

“Because we also install these systems, we make sure that we take steps during installation that will make the maintenance and cleaning process easier,” he said. “When the system is easily accessed, more thorough cleanings can be performed.”

Hood and duct systems that are free of grease buildup are less likely to catch on fire, Farazandeh said.

APS-Hoods’s hood cleaning services also include a full report to the restaurant owner or manager that cites items that could be potential fire and safety hazards, as well as provides a complete overview of the services performed.

Hood Sales

That company sells, installs, repairs, inspects and maintains fire suppression systems and fire detection systems.
