Restaurant Hood Cleaning Companies Sought to Become APS-Hoods Representatives

Filed under: News — Tags: commercial exhaust hoods, Commercial hood sales, Restaurant hood cleaning — Massoud Farazandeh @ 8:21 am

Monday, June 1, 2009 —DENVER, COLORADO— American Professional Services (APS-Hoods) is looking for experienced, reputable restaurant hood cleaning companies in Utah that are interested in becoming part of its nationwide provider network.

APS-Hoods, a national company that specializes in commercial hood sales and comprehensive cleaning services for commercial exhaust hoods, needs representatives to provide services throughout Utah.

Particular cities needing representation include Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Provo, West Jordan, Sandy, Orem, Ogden, St. George, Layton, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Logan, Murray, Bountiful, Draper, Riverton, Lehi, Cottonwood Heights and Cedar City.

Companies that are strong candidates for becoming representatives are established restaurant hood cleaning services that have been in business at least two years, said Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., an affiliate of APS-Hoods. They also must maintain high ethical standards and their hood cleaning processes must meet standards set by APS-Hoods.

“When we send a representative to do a job, we have to know that that representative will perform the work just as well as if we sent our own crew out there to do the work,” Farazandeh said.

The companies that become representatives will receive a variety of benefits, particularly in the area of ongoing training.

Training is important because items in the industry change on a quarterly-sometimes monthly- basis, Farazandeh said. New hood systems and cleaning agents are introduced, as well as new codes. Recently, ultraviolet hood systems entered the market, which require a special procedure to clean the filter compartment.

“Workers have to be well-trained or else they will damage the equipment,” he said. “Ongoing training helps crew chiefs remember things they’ve previously forgotten or not dealt with in the field.”
Training also can get expensive, so this perk alone will be enticement enough for some companies to come on board, Farazandeh said.

Because of their connection to a national company, representatives of APS-Hoods may also find that they now can attract business from national restaurant chains that they weren’t able to attract in the past, he said.

“I’m confident that these representatives will be able to get their share of the national accounts within their states,” Farazandeh said. “Typically, national chain restaurant owners and managers seek national companies they can trust.”

APS-Hoods’ long track record of providing quality services will provide that trustworthy reputation the representatives will need to score national accounts locally, he said.

Earlier this year, APS-Hoods began a concerted effort to create networks of professional hood cleaning companies in states where the company receives large volumes of service calls, Farazandeh said.

“With the increasing call volume from restaurants and commercial kitchen facilities in Utah, we determined that it was time to secure representatives in this area,” he said. “We provide quality services to Utah already, and adding more representatives will ensure that the level of service remains good as service requests increase.”

The ultimate goal is to establish hood cleaning representatives in each state. Besides Utah, the most pressing needs  are in Texas, Illinois, Michigan, Kansas and Oklahoma.

Once representatives are on board with APS-Hoods, Farazandeh will create territories throughout Utah according to populations in cities and the number of restaurants in the area.

There also are franchise opportunities available for hood installation services, Farazandeh said.
