Tuesday, July 15, 2008 —Denver, Colorado— Three American Professional Systems (APS-Hoods) employees recently completed a one-day recertification course in Denver for fire suppression system installation.Heiser Logistics, a business wholesale distributor of fire equipment and related parts, offered the continuing education course in late June to help employees of companies such as APS-Hoods remain up to speed on new products, troubleshooting techniques, codes and other pertinent information, said Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of Nationwide Fire Protection Corp. in Denver, an affiliate of APS-Hoods.

Farazandeh sends employees to training such as this annually, he said, adding that it is an important element to providing quality service to clients.

It is becoming increasingly important for restaurant owners and managers to seek out trained professionals for installation, repair and maintenance of fire suppression systems because insurance companies are taking these issues more seriously.

“Some insurance companies make their clients have proper companies service the fire suppression system and provide a letter that states the system is functional and meets all codes prior to insuring them,” Farazandeh said. “The reason clients can continue to trust our company for this type of work is because we participate in ongoing training. All industries change and you have to keep up with the changes.”
