Los Angeles and Glendale Hood Cleaning Company Reminds Restaurant to Clean Systems in Preparation for Busy Holiday Season

PLACENTIA AND LOS ANGELES, CA— American Professional Services (APS-Hoods) is reminding restaurants and other commercial eating establishments that they may need to schedule an additional hood cleaning this time of year.

Many restaurants experience increased sales around the holidays as people opt to purchase baked hams or fried or smoked turkeys for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other December holidays, rather than make their own at home.

“A lot of our Glendale hood cleaning clients that specialize in smoking or frying turkeys get inundated with business around Thanksgiving,” said Massoud Farazandeh, chief executive officer of APS-Hoods, a Los Angeles and Glendale hood sales company. “Because of that, it is wise for them to schedule a hood cleaning right now to prepare for the next spike, which will be closer to Christmas.”

Companies that bake hams and turkeys also should consider whether they need to schedule a cleaning, Farazandeh said.

Exhaust systems play an important role in controlling fire hazards. Making sure they always are clean means that they can operate at their optimum and adequately remove grease and smoke from the kitchen.

Cleaning schedule recommendations are different for varying types of equipment, as well as the volume of food that is cooked and the cooking methods used.

Restaurants that use smokehouses or wood fires should have their systems cleaned monthly. Dining establishments that that use charbroilers and/or deep fat fryers should have these systems cleaned at least every three months.

Restaurants that use high volumes of vegetable oils in their cooking processes should go no longer than three months between cleanings. When vegetable oil grease is left to build up, it becomes “glue-like” and removing it is a difficult task.

No restaurant should go longer than six months between hood, duct and fan cleanings, Farazandeh, chief executive officer of APS-Hoods, a Los Angeles and Glendale hood installation company said.
